​      Janae is a creative who is passionate about fair-trade, sustainable fashion, and empowering through design. She believes that clothing is an expression of oneself. In her design identity, she strives for clean lines, functional design, and architectural interest. Janae believes the fabric she works with, speaks for itself. By adding simple style lines, playing on the natural drape, and using high quality material, the fabric is the lead and Janae follows as the artist.

 Shapla was the first fashion show that Janae hosted. Named after the Bangla word "Shapla" or water lily. It represented new life and Spring. It was also inspired by Southeast Asian fabric that was sourced from Motif, a fair trade company that Janae interned with while she was at University. Here is a brief video to highlight.
